Aret you at the crossroads?

There is no such thing as luck in business…

Life is unpredictable and change is constant

We can all be caught up in circumstances beyond our control and forced into situations where we feel overwhelmed and helpless. Even then, we have the ability to create positive outcomes, to make a difference in the lives of others, however small that difference may seem.

The key is to be prepared

In business, managing change intelligently and seeing the opportunities in unexpected situations gives successful companies and individuals an edge. Making sure that your organisation remains productive in times of organisational change requires employing a sound strategy in order to leverage maximum value from occurrences like restructuring, downsizing, outsourcing, and mergers and acquisitions.

Successful and engaged employees will work to create a successful and engaged company with high performance and productivity. Success comes from being ready, resilient and well-resourced, able to see the horizon where others see only turbulent seas.

Lee Hecht Harrison partners with organisations and individuals, tailoring unique solutions that enable them to achieve success in the ever-changing world of business. Having the experts on your side during times of upheaval will ensure that you are equipped for any kind of weather.

Making a difference

Imagine an empty beach at dawn. You wander along the coast alone. Strangely, the beach is covered in thousands of starfish, and each crashing wave washes dozens more onto the shore. Then, you notice a figure in the distance  that seems to be dancing.  As you approach you realise that the figure is in fact a young boy, and he is not dancing but gently throwing something into the ocean.

“What are you doing?”, you ask.

“Throwing starfish into the ocean. The sun is coming up and the tide is going out. They will die.”

“But you can’t throw all of these starfish back into the ocean. There are thousands. You can’t possibly make a difference!”

The boy bends down and picks up another starfish. “I made a difference to that one,” says the boy, throwing the starfish into the surf.
