Career Transition Workshops and Seminars

A hands-on approach to looking for work

Looking for work is stressful and advice and training always come in handy. Books and articles are useful but face-to-face contact with experienced professionals who have helped others through similar situations, is invaluable. Working through problems, issues and questions in a practical way, whether one-on-one or in a group, inspires confidence and provides participants with a framework for decision-making. Sharing experiences and stories can relieve feelings of isolation associated with career transition.

Lee Hecht Harrison’s Career Transition workshops and seminars provide flexible hands-on training for people looking for work, or redeployees moving to new roles within an organisation. Career transition workshops and seminars also give individuals the opportunity to discuss ideas and challenges in a group environment, and the support to help them make informed career choices.

LHH workshops include:

Career Transition. An excellent way to get a quick start on the career transition journey by working through Lee Hecht Harrison’s project management approach to job search. This interactive and informative career transition workshop is designed to help participants gain clarity and direction in the job search process, understand the tools and resources needed for effective action, prepare and practice job-related communication, and track and measure progress.

Networking and Interview Skills. Participants will learn to create a self-marketing plan and use networking skills to invigorate the marketing plan and generate job interviews. The experiential learning builds confidence and gives participants the skills to grow their job search networks and interview successfully.

Entrepreneurship. The program is designed to help participants determine if entrepreneurship is right for them, to identify the challenges ahead, and understand the factors that contribute to success. It includes self-assessment, feedback from peers and an expert facilitator, and insights into business plans and structures, small business statistics, and the fundamentals of contracting and consulting.
